Description of the treatments available at the Physio–therapeutic
Department of the Busko−Zdrój Health Resort

MAGNETRONIC

– designed for the therapy with a pulsating magnetic field of low frequency which steadily penetrates through all the parts of the body. It relieves pains, prevents inflammatory conditions, and relaxes sore muscles. It has beneficial effects on treating bone fractures, damaged ligaments, injuries of tendons, bruises, disclocations, sprains, neuralgiess, neuromas, and phantom limb pains.

LASER THERAPY
– the essence of the effect of laser infrared radiation on
the system is to convey energy of increased intensity
to tissues deep inside the human body which are out
of reach of ordinary physical agents. Thanks to its analgesic, anti−inflammatory, antiedematous, bioregenerative and cicatrizant action, a laser is used in, among others, sports rheumatology, dentistry, dermatology and medical cosmetics.

PHOTOTHERAPY – PUVA+SUP lamps
– effects of ultraviolet rays on the skin mostly depend on
the photo chemical reactions occurring in it. Among them, the formation of histamine−like bodies is of primary importance. The skin under UV rays becomes better blood−supplied, more elastic and less susceptible to infections.

Application: psoriasis, planus lichen, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, leukodermia,  etc.

CRYOTHERAPY
– treatment at extremely low temperatures. It consists in lowering the temperature of tissues by nitrogen vapours refrigerated to −180°C. A procedure takes 1 to 3 minutes. It has analgesic and anti−inflammatory effects, combats tissue swelling and improves the movability of joints.







OXYGEN THERAPY
– consists in supplying the system with active oxygen. Application: chronic inflammations of the upper respiratory tract, spastic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, stenocardia, slimming, exhaustion and overstrain, and prophylaxis of headaches, depressions and neurosis. Contradictions for inhalation refer to people suffering from epilepsy.

CLIMATIC THERAPY
–bioclimate of B u s k o − Z d r ó j remarkably con tributes to the effective treatment of a great many diseases, especially among those suffering from hypoimmunity. Busko−Zdrój is situated in the climatic zone typical of lowland areas, with qualities of continental climate. The local climate of the health resort offers peace and quiet as well as clean air. The annual mean temperatures are among the highest in Poland, and so is the number of sunny days in the year, which makes Busko one of the most sunlit resorts in this part of Europe.

TERRAIN THERAPY

– used to improve the activities of the locomotor organ, the circulatory and respiratory systems. It contributes to the reduction of adipose tissue.
Exercise complements therapeutic procedures perfectly. Tennis courts in the local park, swimming pools, the centre of therapy by horse−riding at Wolica (near Busko), a cycling path and other recreational facilities make anyone willing to take exercise most welcome. The beautiful spa park, dating back to the XIXth century, with its 4 500 trees is ideal for strolling around. Well−kept flower-beds, romantic paths, the chirping of birds and squirrels run−
ning across your path are attractions not be missed while making the most of a chance to relax and breathe freely in the open air and such lovely surroundings.

MUSIC THERAPY and RELAXATION
  – everyone is exposed to stress in their daily lives. The harmful actionof stress is not only dependent on the intensity and type of stimuli but also on your adaptability and resistance to stress. Therapy is meant to help to get the knack of getting „inner peace of mind” and complete calm. After a series of healing procedures the patient becomes resistant to stress, copes with the problems of everyday life, shows tolerance and understanding to people he deals with at work and at home.

Therapies are prescribed by resort doctors and timetabled in the outpatient resort department.
